India is one of the most unequal countries in the world, and houses the highest number of people living in poverty. Budget 2023, however, reveals that the government continues to neglect the importance of basic services such as health and education in enabling and ensuring human development and the significance that the government can play in guaranteeing daily subsistence
Responsibilities:
*Developing, implementing, and delivering the organisation’s financial sustainability plan through fund raising, including digital fund raising from individual donors.
*Additionally, work on building the HNI and legacy portfolios for organisational sustainability.
*Oversight of all strategic and operational aspects of the individual fund raising. Managing a team of over 30 people with 4 direct reportees.
Upper Caste groups still hold 90% of leadership roles in Indian media, while there hasn't been significant progress as the figure was 88% in 2019, and there are no Dalit or Adivasi leaders heading Indian mainstream media.
We organised a 2-day Kisan Mela and Knowledge Resource Exchange Programme at our Farmer Field School (FFS) Center in Nunpur in Kalahandi, Odisha.
82 farmers attended the programme which was run in collaboration with the Agriculture Department and ATMA.
The general caste groups dominate TV, print, and online media. Over half of the news anchors and writers in 43 Indian media outlets are from the general category.
Hindi & English newspapers feature articles authored by General caste individuals, with three out of every five articles coming from them. In contrast, articles authored by marginalised castes (SC, ST, or OBC) account for only one out of every five articles.
